Presently Ballincollig Tidy Towns is involved with the Ballincollig Heritage Association in providing three informational signs for the area. These signs will be positioned in strategic locations so that people will be able to see where the key facilities are i.e. schools, churches, fire station Garda station etc. The signs will also give a summary of the heritage of the area.
Ballincollig Tidy Towns are also involved with the Weekly Litter Picks every Sunday morning. Each Sunday between 12 & 20 people give up one hour of their time to carry out a Litter Pick with in the area. For 2009 we aim to expand this even further as this has been a fantastic success for 2008.
Ballincollig Tidy Towns have engaged Donaldson Tourism & Heritage Consultancy to draw up a Development Plan for Ballincollig Tidy Towns for 2009 to 2011. This plan has 142 recommendations covering the nine main adjudication categories in the competition. This plan will hopefully give our committee realistic goals for the years mentioned.
