Business Awards
To support Ballincollig’s participation in the Communities in Bloom International Challenge 2026, Ballincollig Tidy Towns is launching the Community Excellence Business Awards. The awards recognise businesses that take pride in the appearance of their premises and contribute positively to the overall presentation of our town.
Entry is open to all businesses in Ballincollig that occupy a premises. The CEB Awards are recognition-based rather than competitive. Any business meeting the standards can achieve a CEB Award Certificate with the relevant star rating.

Complete the application form at the end of this page to enter your business in the CEBA Awards.
Once we receive your entry, you will be given access to a self-evaluation form, based on the 3, 4 & 5 Star criteria outlined below - to be completed by 31/07/2026.
Timeline
CEB Awards Entry: Available from 18/06/2026
CEB Awards Evaluation Form: Will be issued once your entry form has been received.
Completed Evaluation Form Return Deadline: Friday 31st July, 2026
CEB Awards Judging: 04/08/2026 - 07/08/2026
CEB Award Certificates: Issued week commencing 10/08/2026

Well Maintained Premises
The business demonstrates a good standard of cleanliness and presentation.
Below are the standards that you need to fulfil achieve a 3 Star CEB Awards Certificate
Windows cleaned inside and out.
Doors, door frames and entrance areas clean and well maintained.
Plinths, walls and frontage free from dirt, stains and cobwebs.
Signage clean.
Litter removed from the frontage of the premises.
Paths and kerbs immediately outside swept and tidy.
No visible waste.
Premises generally presents a clean, welcoming appearance.
4 Star Award ★★★★
Attractive & Inviting Premises
The business demonstrates pride in its appearance and contributes positively to the streetscape.
Must meet all 3-Star criteria, plus the following (where applicable):
Attractive and well-maintained window display.
Seasonal or permanent planting, hanging baskets, window boxes or planters (where possible).
Outdoor furniture & smoking areas clean and well presented.
External lighting, signs and fixtures in good condition.
Weed removal from front of premises, including path.
No unnecessary clutter visible from the street.
Building paintwork and finishes maintained to a good standard.
Effort made to enhance the appearance of the premises beyond basic maintenance.
5 Star Award ★★★★★
Community Excellence Standard
The business is an outstanding example of civic pride and contributes significantly to the appearance of Ballincollig.
Must meet applicable 4-Star criteria, plus:
Exceptional standard of cleanliness and presentation.
High-quality planting, floral displays or other elements that enhance the streetscape.
Creative, attractive and regularly maintained window displays.
Has measures in place to motivate staff and customers to keep the
exterior presentation of the business clean and tidy.
Demonstrates environmental awareness through sustainable practices.
Contributes positively to the character and attractiveness of the town centre.
Premises serves as a model of best practice for other businesses.
Clearly demonstrates pride, care and commitment to Ballincollig's appearance and reputation.
