Ballincollig Tidy Towns continued its busy summer schedule with 26 volunteers taking part in the weekly litter pick and maintenance projects across the town. In response to the national hose ban, the group introduced an alternative river water supply to keep planters thriving. Volunteers completed the Himalayan balsam removal project in the Regional Park, carried out clean-ups and vegetation management at Community Drive, Old Fort Road, Church View, the Link Road and Coolroe, while ongoing watering, grass cutting and biodiversity work ensured Ballincollig’s public spaces remained in excellent condition.

Ballincollig Tidy Towns continued its summer programme with 24 volunteers taking part in the weekly litter pick and a wide range of maintenance projects across the town. Volunteers carried out hedge cutting, kerb cleaning, invasive species removal, biodiversity work and footpath improvements at locations including Muskerry Estate, Willowfield, Community Drive and the Link Road. The team also continued its Himalayan balsam removal project in the Regional Park and maintained floral displays, helping keep Ballincollig looking its best throughout the summer.

Ballincollig Tidy Towns had another busy week, with 30 volunteers taking part in the Sunday litter pick and ongoing enhancement works across the town. Volunteers carried out clean-ups and maintenance at Cleburne Mews, Coolroe Meadows, Muskerry Estate and Barry's Road, while watering teams worked tirelessly to keep floral displays thriving during the warm weather. The committee also reflected positively on the recent Communities in Bloom adjudication visit, thanking volunteers and Cork City Council for their support as the town now looks ahead to the announcement of the international results in October.

Ballincollig Tidy Towns volunteers had another productive week despite heavy rain, with litter picking, edging, weeding and biodiversity work carried out across the town. Major efforts focused on Poulavone Roundabout, Old Fort Road and Westcliffe, while the restored bee boxes were returned to Poulavone as part of the town’s Pollinator Corridor. The group also welcomed visiting Brownies to learn about composting, water harvesting and pollinator projects ahead of Biodiversity Week 2026. We also met with Abbeyleix TT who kindly gave us CiB flags and signage.

Evening work nights returned with a major clean-up at Poulavone. We celebrated the first anniversary of the Cork Biodiversity Hub with the unveiling of a stunning community mural. Despite mixed weather, volunteers continued their efforts to enhance Ballincollig’s public spaces, biodiversity and community spirit as preparations continue for Ballincollig in Bloom 2026.
